HOW FAR DOES IT GO?

11 miles.
A whole new way to explore.

The Indian Bend Wash Greenbelt stretches approximately 11 miles through Scottsdale, linking parks, lakes, golf landscapes and a paved multiuse path. McCormick Ranch sits along the northern portion of this north–south outdoor corridor, with connections south toward Chaparral Park, Indian School Park, Eldorado Park and Vista del Camino Park.

Think of it as a way to explore beyond your own neighborhood: choose a short walk near home or plan a longer ride through Scottsdale’s connected park system. Your actual distance depends on your entry point, route and turnaround.

Start around Shea Boulevard and McCormick Ranch and head south through Scottsdale’s park corridor. For a longer outing, connecting paths let you continue toward Tempe Town Lake. The city describes the Scottsdale greenbelt itself as approximately 11 miles; a ride continuing into Tempe will vary with your route.

The city’s wider path network also connects with the Arizona Canal and Crosscut trails, offering more regional routes beyond the greenbelt itself.

Walk. Ride.
Make it your routine.

More than 24 bridge and underpass crossings help the greenbelt path avoid major street intersections. Walkers, runners and cyclists share the route, with parks and open spaces along the way.

It is also a flood-control landscape—a clever part of Scottsdale’s design that gives the wash a recreational role between storms. Follow posted closures and choose another route when crossings are flooded.

What does “near
the greenbelt” mean?

For your home search, the useful detail is the route from the front door to a public path entrance. We’ll help you compare access points, street crossings and how each home connects to the places you want to use.

A lake or golf-course view does not automatically include access to the shoreline, course or association amenities. Access depends on the specific property and location.
